Thorough testing involving heavier breathers than Darth Vader have proven the effectiveness. Fog happens when the warm breath on the inside of the shield meets up with the colder air on the outside. Fog forms when the difference between temperature and dew point is 5°F or less. Water vapor condenses into tiny liquid water droplets. The small liquid water droplets that are condensed from it become suspended on the shield surface.
