Yoshimura's Wimmer and Gust Dominate In Pleasure Valley - Take Over Points Lead Chino, Calif. (July 20, 2009) — Yoshimura and Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki swept round nine of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship at Pleasure Valley Raceway in Armagh, Pennsylvania, with defending champion and points leader Dustin Wimmer (#1) winning both motos for the second consecutive race, while teammate Doug Gust (#55) finished second overall with two podium finishes. Both achieved these feats wearing their Memphis Car Audio Fulmer Helmets.
Wimmer started the weekend by posting the fastest time in practice and qualifying. At the start of the first moto, however, it was his veteran teammate Doug Gust with the holeshot. But Gust's lead would be short lived, as Wimmer quickly took the top spot and and easily held it to the finish line. Gust, after a race long battle for the podium, crossed the line in third.
Keep up the good work, team!
Tanner Foust Takes the Victory and Chris Forsberg Moves to Top Spot Long Beach, Calif. (July 12, 2009) – Formula DRIFT returned to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for Round 4: All In. Champion Tanner Foust takes the victory in his Rockstar / Hankook Scion Racing tC, while Chris Forsberg in the NOS Energy Drink / Maxxis Nissan 350Z moves to the top position overall in the chase for the Formula DRIFT Pro Championship.
For the 2nd consecutive year, Formula DRIFT returned to Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The 2-day weekend event was filled with non-stop Formula DRIFT and Pro Am action. Fans were also treated to the Jtuned Auto Gallery car show, Wicked H.P. drag competition, and Bikini Jam.
“Las Vegas continues to be one of the top destinations for the circuit despite the triple digit weather,” said Ryan Sage, vice president of marketing and co-founder of Formula DRIFT. “The fans continue to come out in droves and we had another sold out event. The drivers continue to step up their level of drifting and we're seeing a real chase for the Championship.”
Chris Forsberg took over the point lead after a close battle with Ryan Tuerck, who was ranked #2 going into the event, in the Great 8 round. Forsberg then went on to defeat Tyler McQuarrie, in the Falken Tire Nissan 350Z, in the consolation round for 3rd place. The final battle was between Hankook Tire teammates Tanner Foust and Ryuji Miki, piloting the APEXi / Hankook Mazda RX-7. Foust proved why he is the returning champion and blinded Miki in the first run with a cloud of thick smoke that caused Miki to lose his drift, while giving chase in their first tandem run giving Foust the advantage. With a solid 2nd run, Foust was able to sit on top of the podium once again.
“The Rockstar team and I went from zero to hero after failing to qualify for the main competition last event,” said Formula DRIFT champion Tanner Foust, winner of Round 4: All In. “I am so proud of my team and they worked hard to fix the issues of the Rockstar Scion tC and I now feel comfortable and feel that this car has more potential than the Nissan 350Z ever had.”
Formula DRIFT returns to Evergreen Speedway on August 8-9. Tickets are on-sale now.

Old Skool Open Face Helmets From Fulmer Memphis, TN (June 30th, 2009) — So we know that Cavemen already wear the V2 old skool open face helmet from Fulmer in stars and stripes like Peter Fonda wore in Easy Rider. Celebs like Jared and Shannon Leto of 30 Seconds to Mars, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Justin Brescia from The Hills, and even Johnny Knoxville (aka Jackass) from Nitro Circus, have all been seen wearing the V2 glitter bobbers. Keith Urban’s tour bus stopped by the Memphis office for some when they had a gig nearby Fulmer HQ. Now, Fulmer’s got new V2’s ready for the next style makers to be seen in.
First is the V2 SKIN. Offered only in black hyde with top-quality stitching detail, putting on this helmet is like putting on your favorite old leather jacket. We think this would look good on Johnny Depp, Jamie Foxx, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, or Jesse James.
Next is the V2 ZERO from Fulmer. With a red rising sun graphic on white, this helmet is for anyone restoring a vintage Japanese motorcycle, or riding new Japanese scooter. Retro and cutting edge at the same time, we’d like to see this on Gwen Stefani, Keanu Reeves, or Jack White.
Finally, for those who want to look cool, but don’t want to look like they are trying, Fulmer offers the V2 shape in plain, simple, classic, gloss black. Who would look better in this than Christian Bale, A Rod, Brad Pitt, or Danica Patrick?
DOT approved, MSRP $69.95 - $99.95
Tanner Foust Podiums At Formula Drift Long Beach Season Opener

Long Beach, CA, Saturday April 11th, 2009 — Rockstar Energy Drink racer and 2007/8 Formula Drift Champion, Tanner Foust won third place and a podium spot at the 2009 Formula Drift Championship season opener on the Long Beach Grand Prix course this weekend. It was a successful debut for the all-new Papadakis Racing built Scion TC that Tanner stepped into for the first time just days earlier.
Foust took third place from Robbie Nishida after being beaten in a hard fought semi-final by eventual winner Ryan Tuerck. Both races with Tuerck and Nishida featured two “one more times” as the competition was so close. Foust ran the Toyota Nascar V8 motored Rockstar Energy Scion TC eighteen times in tandem competition without missing a beat--a phenomenal feat for a car that was developed from scratch in the off-season and testament to the car building skills of Stephan Papadakis and crew.
Foust said, “To walk away from the event with a podium spot on the Rockstar Energy Scion TC's maiden voyage is a huge success. The guys in the shop worked so hard. I'm just glad I could reward their great efforts with a good result. We're all very stoked!”
Team manager and car builder, Stephan Papadakis also commented, “"What an amazing weekend! So many things came together to make this podium finish happen. Tanner drove flawlessly as usual and the Rockstar Scion TC didn't skip a beat thanks to our crew. There are many people and companies that are helping to make this year a success. Thank you everyone!!
Foust will take his new Scion back into battle at the Formula Drift second round in Atlanta on May 8th and 9th. Foust is back in the driving seat defending his current first place in the Rally America championship at the Olympus Rally outside of Seattle, WA on April 18th and 19th.
About: Tanner Foust is the 2007 and 2008 Formula Drift Champion. The Rockstar Energy Drink Drift Team is operated by Papadakis Racing. Additional sponsors are Scion Racing, Hankook Tires, AEM, ACT, Eneos, Motegi, Tokico, SPC Performance Alpinestars, Fulmer Helmets and Memphis Car Audio.
Jeff Gibson takes the AMA Arenacross Championship

March 25, 2009 - Sponsored by Memphis Car Audio & Fulmer Helmets, Jeff Gibson of the Mahindra Tractors/Tuf Honda team wrapped up the 2009 AMA Arenacross Championship with a 1-2 performance at the final round of the series in the Bank of Kentucky Center in Highland Heights, Kentucky. Gibson came into the weekend needing only to qualify for the main event on one of the two nights in order to clinch the title. But rather than play it safe, Gibson held nothing back, moving quickly to the front in Friday's final where he held Spinechiller's Honda's Nathan Skaggs at bay for most of the race before pulling away to claim his sixth win of the season and the title.
According to Gibson, the secret to this year's championship was consistency, and as it turns out Gibson was the poster boy for consistency this year, finishing outside of the top-10 only once all year. He also started the season with seven consecutive podium finishes, including two victories in that stretch. Once he moved into the points lead, Gibson never relinquished his hold on the top of the standings.
"This is just awesome," said Gibson. "It's been a long season and I've been fortunate to have things work out for me. My bikes have been amazing all season and I could not have accomplished this without the help of my Tuf Honda team. I'm proud to be an Arenacross champion and it's a pleasure to be part of such a fantastic series."
Foust takes 3rd at the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood March 2, 2009 - Rally car racing is considered the extreme sport of automobile racing and is often described simply as “real cars, real roads, real fast.” This all-season motorsport sees drivers and their co-drivers take modified road cars to the limit as they achieve blistering speeds over courses that cover more than 100 miles of gravel, dirt or snow-covered roads.
Sponsored in part by Memphis Car Audio and Fulmer Helmets, this was Tanner Foust’s and Beavis’ first event in their new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X and Foust said he was able to pick up the pace as he adjusted to the new car. Foust placed 3rd at the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood in southern Missouri this weekend.
“It’s good to be on the podium,” said Tanner. “The car has great potential.”
After two rounds in the Rally America Championship, Comrie-Picard and Foust are now tied for the championship lead.
“It’s really exciting to be at the top of the points with Tanner – I’m really enthusiastic for this season,” said Comrie-Picard.
The rally took place through the scenic Ozark foothills of southern Missouri. The smooth gravel course is fast and flowing, and sees some of the highest speeds in the series.
The weather is the real wildcard at this contest and the 2009 running proved no exception. The warm, early spring temperatures that greeted competitors at the Friday start turned cold and there was blinding snow as teams crossed the finish line. The contest was ultimately cut short by the brutal weather; the final stage was cancelled after the conditions deteriorated so much that it was deemed impassable.
All results are considered provisional pending final administrative processes.
Top teams in the series are also invited to compete in the Summer X Games, the leading action sports event broadcast live on ABC and ESPN. Eight top teams have already been invited to this August’s contest.
Next, the championship moves west to Washington state for the Olympus Rally, April 18 - 19.
Rockstar Energy Drink Rally Team Now Leads Both North American Rally Championships February 28, 2009 - Rockstar Energy Drink Rally driver Tanner Foust stood on the podium in third place after a successful debut in his new 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer EVO X. Foust and co-driver Chrissie Beavis drove a conservative rally getting used to the freshly built EVO X and, despite being down on power for this horsepower hungry rally compared to the factory Subarus on the faster roads, made up a lot of time on their competition in the latter more technical stages. They came within a few seconds of second place finisher, Andrew Comrie Picard, by the second to last stage. Unfortunately when the final stage was cancelled due to snow Foust and Beavis were unable to carry their momentum to a higher place on the podium.
Foust explains, “We made it through the rally virtually problem free. John Buffum’s Libra Racing crew took care of any issues quickly but their diligent preparation before the event is what made the good result a possibility. Chrissie was on every note perfectly the whole weekend so my job was fairly straight forward… find a comfortable set up, build speed and don’t crash!”
This was a fairy-tale debut for the Libra Racing prepared Rockstar Energy Drink Mitsubishi EVO X—essentially the same car that took Foust’s Rockstar Rally Canadian team mate, Antoine L’Estage, to victory in the opening round of the Canadian Rally Championships a few weeks earlier. With these results the Rockstar team is leading both of North America’s premier rally championships.
Foust will next be at the wheel of his new Mitsubishi at the Olympus Rally in Olympia, WA on April 19th. Foust kicks off his Formula Drift season in Long Beach, CA on April 12th.
Fulmer Offers Bubble and Flat Shields for their Retro Bobber Helmets
Feb. 12, 2009 - In conjunction with their release of three new colors of their popular open face V2 helmets, Fulmer now also offers old-school bubble and flat shields as an add-on accessories. Period-correct in every way, these shields will take you back to an era when many of today’s riders were just kids riding on the back of their dad’s bike.
“We were responding to a demand in the marketplace. Customers that love our V2 kept saying things like ‘My first helmet when I was a kid looked just like this – but mine had a spaceman-looking shield with it’. People want authenticity and they can get it with us. Style-wise, these helmets and shields are practically identical to the ones we first offered back in the late 60’s and early70’s.”
Scott Holbrooks
Vice President, Fulmer Helmets

Viktor and Phantom Graphics
Feb. 10, 2009 - Your motorcycle may not be a two-seat, twin-engined, all-weather, long-range supersonic interceptor fighter/fighter-bomber, but wearing this new half helmet from Fulmer, it’ll sure feel like one.
Fulmer Helmets introduces a fierce graphic on a half-helmet based on the strong lines of the highly adaptable F4 Phantom. This aircraft was used extensively by U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. This helmet shall be both worn and collected by those who honor those efforts. Approved by the DOT, this comfortable, lightweight helmet makes a proud statement.
The introduction of Fulmer’s new ‘Viktor’ graphic on the same half-helmet platform also conjures wartime heroics, but in a different way. Subtle and dark with tone-on-tone art, one imagines ancient feudal nobility fighting for fiefdoms. Perhaps better known later for more sinister forms, Iron Crosses like the one that dominates the design of the ‘Viktor’ had an honorable beginning. They were first instituted as Prussian decoration during the War of Liberation against Napoleon as awards for acts of heroism, bravery or leadership. Feel victorious as you lead the crowd at bike night with your salute to European Barons, Arch Dukes and Viscounts.

Groovy Glitter Bobbers in Pink and Green
Feb. 10, 2009 - In the category of “everything old is new again”, Fulmer Helmets is delighted to add yet more retro flair to their open face helmet lineup. The Fulmer Companies launched their first motorcycle helmets in 1969. In that same year John married Yoko, Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, hippies converged at Woodstock, and Easy Rider hit the big screen. Fulmer hit a homerun last year with the introduction of their Easy Rider-inspired Stars and Stripes open face V2 helmet model, and later followed it with a number of glittering colors. Looking back to the colors they offered in the late 60’s and early 70’s, they’ve added both pink and green glitter. The colors are extremely vivid and saturated. If you don’t want to be noticed, this is not the look for you.
“They’ll talk to ya and talk to ya and talk to ya about individual freedom. But they see a free individual, it’s gonna scare ‘em.”
George Hanson
(played by Jack Nicholson, Easy Rider 1969)
In addition to the new pink and green glitter versions, the V2 is also offered in white, gold, blue, red and silver glitter, The Easy Rider (red white & blue stars and stripes graphic), The Ink (nautical star tattoo graphic), and UK & US flag graphics. MSRP ranges from $69.95 to $107.95.
Complete your retro transformation time warp with a period-correct bubble or flat shield in chrome, smoke or clear. Far out, man! MSRP $18.95.

Gibson Sweeps in Louisville to Extend Points Lead Jan. 28, 2009 - Fulmer Helmets is proud to announce that their sponsored rider, Jeff Gibson, is making it clear to his competitors in the AMA Arenacross Series that the 2009 championship goes through him. The Westerville, Ohio native grabbed his fourth win of the season and third win in a row on Saturday night at Broadbent Arena in Louisville, Ky.
Gibson was in control throughout the 25-lap main event, much like last night. He still has yet to finish off the podium in what is shaping up to be one of the most impressive performances in AMA Arenacross Series history.
“I just need to keep being consistent,” said Gibson. “I try not to think about the points chase at all and take things race-by-race. There is still a long season to go and anything can happen. I really just want to thank my Mahindra Tractors/Tuf Honda team.”
Gibson’s teammate Josh Demuth, of North Richland Hills, Texas, made it a 1-2 sweep for the Mahindra Tractors/Tuf Honda team with a strong runner-up finish.
Gibson currently holds a 47-point lead in the standings over Spinechillers/Storm Lake Honda’s Nathan Skaggs, of Chillicothe, Ohio.
The AMA Arenacross Series heads to Greensboro, N.C. and the Greensboro Coliseum next weekend for its second one-night round of the season. Action kicks off on Saturday, January 31 at 7:30 p.m.

Fulmer Celebrates 40 years of helmets
Jan. 13, 2009 – The Fulmer Company was founded ninety years ago in 1919 with seat covers for cars. From the 1920’s through the mid-60’s the company sold a variety of automotive interior products, trim supplies and paint. For a time, the motorcycle division carried fairings, saddle bags, gloves and other accessories. But it was the year 1969 when Fulmer introduced their first motorcycle helmet. In that same year John married Yoko, Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, hippies converged at Woodstock, and Easy Rider hit the big screen. Far out! Today, Fulmer helmets are still made to exacting standards and quality to specifically meet the needs of the marketplace.
As part of the year-long celebration of this milestone, the Fulmer booth at the Dealer Expo in Indianapolis will feature a trippy, psychedelic theme. Picture, if you will: orange shag carpeting, bean bag chairs, lava lamps, concert posters, beaded curtains, and even a tie-dye paint job on a motorcycle. A DJ will be spinning classic vinyl from the era and “Free Love Lager” will be served during happy hour on Feb. 14th and 15th. Groovy! Check it all out on the 1st floor of the Convention center at booth 2301.
Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act For your information, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (CPSIA) was adopted by Congress and is currently enforced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). This act establishes new standards for lead content in children’s products.
This has the potential to affect Fulmer only in that we offer some junior-sized helmets that have at least a partially painted surface. The CPSIA states that all children’s products offered for sale containing lead in excess of 600 parts per million (ppm) will be in violation of the law. It requires that all children’s products must have a certificate proving compliance.
Manufacturers have until Feb. 10, 2010 to prove compliance. It is entirely lawful to continue the sale of any and all Fulmer helmets in the interim. Fulmer will prove compliance of all affected helmets in advance of government deadlines.
Note that this information has changed as recently as Jan. 30, 2009. As we receive new information, we will continue to post updates.
